Foreign Minister Khaleel Departs for Belgium to Attend EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel has departed for Belgium to participate in the fourth European Union Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum, following an official invitation from Kaja Kallas, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission.
The forum, scheduled to take place in Brussels from 20 to 21 November, serves as a key platform for enhancing cooperation between the European Union and the Indo-Pacific region. This year’s gathering marks a significant milestone in ongoing diplomatic efforts to strengthen regional partnerships and address shared global challenges.
During the two-day event, Minister Khaleel is expected to engage in bilateral meetings with foreign ministers and senior officials from partner countries. He will also join a roundtable titled “Common Endeavours for a Clean and Sustainable Future,” where he will highlight the Maldives’ commitment to environmental stewardship, sustainability, and collaborative global action.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Maldives’ participation underscores its dedication to advancing international cooperation through dialogue and multilateral platforms, reinforcing its role as an active contributor to regional and global initiatives.
