Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives Abdulla Shahid has sent a congratulatory message to State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi on the occasion of the celebration of centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
In his message, Foreign Minister Shahid extended warm congratulations to the government, and the friendly people of China on the occasion of the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. The minister stated since 1921, China has achieved tremendous success in economic and social progress for its people. He added China’s role in the global sphere will be of equal importance as the country marks this important occasion and move towards the future.
In his message, Minister Shahid said China has already demonstrated its willingness to engage closely with the global community amid the ongoing pandemic, through various important initiatives such as the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines, for which the Maldives remains grateful. The minister expressed hope that the coming years will bring to fruition the ongoing dialogue to further strengthen the existing friendly and close relations between the Maldives and China.
