Contractorssought for Thilafushi international port project

A consultancy firm is being sought to prepare a master plan and a detailed design and tender document for the Thilafushi international port project.
In a notice in the government gazette, those interested in the project has been invited to submit their expression of interest.
Interested firms should also submit documents disclosing their experience, including their brochure, and details of their previous projects in the field.
The most eligible firm will be chosen based on quality cost and benefits, states the Ministry of Finance.
It also stated that the government supports international firms giving their expression of interest with the help of local firms.
Relevant documents are to be submitted before February 28, 2pm.
In an earlier interview with RaajjeMV, Maldives Ports Limited CEO Shahid Ali said that the only permanent solution to the issues at the international port in Male' is to build a port in Thilafushi.
He said that the Thilafushi port project, to begin in the next two years, will last five to 10 years, and will be split into different stages.
