Jordanian Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein has announced that he will be running for the presidency of FIFA which is slated for next year’s February.
Prince Ali had contended in the most recent presidential election of the federation، however he lost to the current president Sepp Blatter.
The abrupt pace of electing a new president comes due to Sepp Blatter، who got elected for the fifth consecutive time as president decided to put forward his resignation.
While speaking during his announcement to run for president at FIFA، he said that he wishes to complete what he had started and he had worked hard to achieve it.
Prince Ali stressed that football cannot be taken towards its actual status without a new leadership and added that he decided to run for FIFA’s president on behalf of all football fans and lovers.
Apart from Prince Ali، the incumbent president of UEFA Michel Platini and former FIFA vice president Chung Mong-joon had also announced they will be running for presidency as well.
The presidential election of FIFA is scheduled to take place on 26th February 2016.
