Police have launched an operation in Laamu atoll using K9 squad.
The operation is conducted by South Central Police division in collaboration with Drug Enforcement department’s police، L. atoll’s police and Directorate of intelligence.
Recently، an operation by Police has confiscated 134.99 Kg of drug while trying to smuggle to L.Gan.
Police said that all the islands in the atoll including inhabited، uninhabited and industrial islands would be searched in this operation along with the places belonging to people suspected of importing illegal drugs and alcohol to the atoll would be searched as well.
This is the first Police operation of its kind being conducted in the atolls.
This is the first operation launches to tackle drugs in atolls using “Faara Gema”.
