As part of BML’s plan of expanding banking services to the islands and improving customer service, the Bank today opened the doors of its 27th branch in Faafu Nilandhoo, the most populated island among the five inhabited islands in the Atoll.
The branch in its state-of-the-art premise will offer the full range of BML’s products and services including ATM, card and Islamic Banking services. The new premise was inaugurated today by Minister of Finance and Treasury, Mr Abdullah Jihad at a ceremony held at the island.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Bank’s CEO and Managing Director, Andrew Healy, stated “Opening this branch in Nilandhoo demonstrates our commitment to improve service levels in the atolls and to extend our reach to the unbanked population. With just one exception, we now have a branch presence in every atoll in the country.”
Currently Bank of Maldives operates the largest branch and ATM network in the country with 27 branches, 64 ATMs, 3500 POS card terminals and 65 agents providing POS cash withdrawal services.
