President sends message of sympathy to the Prime Minister of Japan

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy ‎to the Prime Minister of Japan، Shinzo Abe، following the earthquake that hit Kumamoto prefecture.
The President’s message read that he was saddened to learn of the earthquake that hit Kumamoto prefecture causing the loss of innocent lives and injury to many، as well as causing extensive damage to property and infrastructure.
“At this time of national distress، the Government and the people of the Maldives join me in conveying our profound sympathy to you، the Government and the friendly people of Japan، and in particular، to those directly affected by this disaster،” President said on his message.
Furthermore، President also requested to convey sincere condolences of Maldives people to the members of the bereaved families.
In addition، Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon also sent a message of sympathy to Mr. Fumio Kishida، the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
