Maldives Media Council (MMC) has held discussions with the Embassy of China. 
Discussion were held regarding Capacity Development for In-Service Journalists by providing training opportunities for Maldivian journalists through educational institutions in China.
The discussions were attended by President of MMC Mohamed Shafau Hassan, Member Ali Hussain and Ahmed Moosa and Secretary General of the Council Dr. Ibrahim Sameer and from China Embassy Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Ms. Wang Lixin and Attache, Mr. Wang Longhoa attended the discussion.
During the meeting, discussions were mainly focused on inviting Maldivian journalists to China for field trips. Moreover, assisting in strengthening the technical capability of MMC, providing scholarship and potential future collaboration were also discussed.
The China Ambassador to the Maldives, Her Excellency Wang Lixin, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, assured the Council that she would work towards facilitating training opportunities for Maldivian journalists.
