Immigration is currently undertaking significant efforts to address the issue of illegal migration in the Maldives.
In this regard, they have been conducting raids across the country to identify and detail illegal migrants.
The government has previously stated that the illegal migrants detained will be granted the option to regularize or return to their country.
While 25 percent of the Maldivian population accounts for migrants, the current administration plans to resolve the issue of illegal migrants within the next three years.
