President and First Lady visit Singapore’s ITE Headquarters & ITE College Central

His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed visited the Institute of Education (ITE) Headquarters & ITE College Central today as part of his ongoing state visit to Singapore, accompanied by a high-level Maldivian delegation.
Dr Goh Mong Song, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the institute received the President and the First Lady.
Through its subsidiary body ITE Education Services (ITEES), ITE provides foreign governments, private and international organisation with skills development and vocational training.
During a briefing held, the ITE management welcomed the Maldives as an institutional partner. A memorandum of understanding was signed earlier in the state visit between the ITE and the Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development to cooperate in the fields of higher education, educational policy, technical and vocational education, and research.
The ITE management noted that ITE focuses on developing soft skills alongside technical skills and that its curricula are developed based on expert input from related industries.
President Dr Muizzu thanked ITE for its support and commitment to take forward the agreed terms to provide technical and vocational education based on country-specific strengths on a reciprocal basis.
The delegation viewed the User Experience Hub of the School of Design and Media, InvITE of the School of Business Services, and the Aerospace Hub of the School of Engineering.
