Ihavandhoo included as Ihya Forums are set to be held in 10 islands this Ramadan
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has announced that the “Ihya Forum,” held annually during the month of Ramadan, will take place again this year.
To enliven the nights of this year’s holy month of Ramadan, it has been decided to hold eight forums in Malé and forums in 10 islands across the atolls.
According to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, the islands selected to host the Ihya Forums were finalized after reviewing proposals submitted by island councils and considering the readiness and arrangements available in those islands to conduct such programs. Accordingly, 10 islands from various regions of the Maldives, including HA. Ihavandhoo, have been selected.
Schedule for Forums in the Atolls
The first forum in the atolls will be held on 3 Ramadan (February 20, 2026) in Th. Dhiyamigili. This will be followed by forums in GDh. Thinadhoo, GDh. Madaveli, and GDh. Gadhdhoo. The forum in HA. Ihavandhoo is scheduled for 10 Ramadan (February 27, 2026). Additionally, forums are scheduled to be held in Lh. Naifaru, K. Himmafushi, K. Guraidhoo, L. Maavah, and R. Meedhoo.
In this series of forums, religious scholars will speak on various significant religious topics. These include the virtues of the month of Ramadan, the lessons inherent in acts of worship, and important subjects such as the relationship between parents and children. Speakers at these forums will include Ash-Sheikh Azim Khalid, Ash-Sheikh Mohamed Samee, and Ash-Sheikh Ali Shaheed, among others.
The primary objective of these forums is to increase religious awareness among the public and to ensure the benefits of Ramadan are delivered in the most complete manner. As a special feature, it has been arranged to award valuable prizes to lucky winners chosen via a lucky draw among those who attend this year’s forums.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has urged as many people as possible to attend these forums and gain religious knowledge. The forums will take place on the designated dates during the night at specified centers within the islands.
