President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated and expressed his appreciation to the Maldives national futsal team following their victory at the SAFF Futsal Championship.
After today’s win against Bhutan, which secured the championship title for the Maldives, the President shared a congratulatory message on his X account. In his post, the President noted that the growing achievements of talented Maldivian youth in sports are a positive sign and a source of inspiration for the nation’s future.
The President further highlighted that winning an international tournament of this calibre without losing a single match is a historic accomplishment, describing it as a moment of immense national pride. He emphasised that the team’s success stands as a strong example of what can be achieved through unity, determination, and teamwork.
Following the team’s victory, Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef also shared a congratulatory message on his X account, praising the national team for their historic achievement. He described the triumph as a proud moment for the country and expressed hope that it would inspire young athletes across the Maldives.
Additionally, First Lady Sajidha Mohamed likewise conveyed her congratulations in a post on her X account. She described the team’s outstanding performance and championship victory as a source of pride and honour for all Maldivians, and extended her appreciation and best wishes to the players.
