National Service Programme aims to nurture responsible youth devoted to Islamic values, ethics and nationhood: President

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the National Service Programme aims to nurture responsible youth devoted to Islamic values, ethics and the revival of nationhood.
The President made the remarks on his official X account ahead of the departure of the second batch to Lh. Maafilaafushi for National Service training, conveying his best wishes to the participants.
Noting that the departure of the participants coincided with the International Day of Education, the President said the National Service Programme was introduced to nurture a capable and competent generation. The second batch of the programme comprises 350 participants, who will complete their basic training within a period of three months.
Participants in the National Service Programme will receive training in national identity, responsible citizenship, education, leadership and language proficiency, alongside physical training, fitness and discipline. They will also be trained in first aid, firefighting and self-defence.
President Dr Muizzu stated that the National Service Programme fosters adherence to the pillars of Islam and Islamic values among young people, while nurturing a productive and responsible generation. He added that the programme ensures the development of participants’ physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
