President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has changed the composition of the Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry established on April 27, 2025. The Commission is tasked with conducting an independent and credible investigation into the incident involving a young person found collapsed on the rooftop of a building in Malé on April 18, 2025.
The Commission is responsible for establishing the facts, reviewing the actions of relevant institutions, recommending necessary measures, and ensuring a fair and impartial investigation.
Following the changes, the newly appointed members of the Commission are:
1. Dr Mohamed Munavvar, G. Hassankaarige
2. Brigadier General (Retired) Ahmed Mohamed, V. Almaan
3. Dr Moosa Murad, Malé Registry Number 641
4. Jabeen Mohamed, Moonimaage, Th. Veymandoo
5. Aminath Eenaas, H. Habaruge
Dr Mohamed Munavvar has been appointed as the President (Chairperson) of the Commission.
The Presidential Decree announcing these changes has been published in the Government Gazette and has taken effect.
