The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has strengthened the guidelines for maritime training courses conducted by private training centers, aiming to improve service quality and enhance safety standards.
According to the Ministry, the revised guidelines were developed after consultations with private maritime training institutions and will officially come into effect on June 1, 2025.
- Key requirements under the new guidelines include:
- Seeking ministry approval for each individual course batch
- Daily submission of attendance and photos of class activities
- Pre-course documentation must be submitted in a specified format
- Post-course reports and photographs must be submitted within a set timeframe
- All required documentation must be submitted before the course begins
The Ministry warned that any training center that violates these new rules will face enforcement action and risk losing approval to conduct future courses.
Officials emphasized that the updated guidelines aim to ensure higher standards of maritime education and reinforce safety and security in the maritime sector.
