Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef attended the closing ceremony of the National Volleyball Championship 2025 – Women's Division on Sunday, reaffirming the tournament's significance in the nation's sporting landscape. He was welcomed upon arrival by Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation Abdulla Rafiu and President of the Volleyball Association of Maldives Mohamed Latheef.
The championship final featured a determined contest between Police Club and Club WAMCO, with Club WAMCO prevailing in a hard-fought victory. As the match concluded, attention turned to the awards presentation, where the vice president recognised standout performances in the women's division. He presented accolades to the tournament's top local and international players and honoured the most promising competitor under the age of 19.
Referees and exceptional athletes were also recognised, with awards acknowledging individual achievements and team success. The runners-up received silver medals and a monetary prize, marking their commendable effort throughout the competition. The ceremony reached its conclusion as the vice president awarded gold medals, the championship trophy, and official certificates to the winning team, formally closing the tournament.
