Maldives Police Service has arrested a man over a speedboat accident while intoxicated.
Police said they received a report of a collision between a speedboat and a ferry off Vaadhoo Resort in Kaafu Atoll at approximately 7:26pm on Sunday evening. Officers who attended the scene of the accident were able to determine that the driver of the speedboat was intoxicated.
The driver, who was subsequently arrested, has been identified as Nashaadh Waheed Mohamed, 41, Zaheera Manzil, M. Kolhufushi.
According to the Police, no one was injured in the accident.
The case is under further investigation by the authority.
Notably, on Thursday, Police arrested a man from Hulhumale’ for driving recklessly while intoxicated.
He was identified as Mohamed Maais, 23, Hulhumale’ Flat No. 4-1-07.
