President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has inaugurated the government's new Youth Third Space, "Zuvaanunge Vehi".
The facility is located on the site previously used as the Muleeaage’ garage. President Muizzu first announced plans to convert the space into a Youth Third Space on 18 November 2024, as part of his proposal to create a community-friendly space that addresses the space constraints for conducting youth-related activities.
The Youth Third Space has been designed to conduct various youth-focused skills programmes, recreational activities and community events. It aims to provide a supportive environment that promotes both physical and mental wellbeing. Youth counselling and wellbeing services will also be offered at the centre.
Following the inauguration, the President toured the stalls set up at the venue, which included displays from various local craft and skills businesses.
The President was accompanied by First Lady Sajidha Mohamed, Minister of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts Ibrahim Waheed and several Cabinet ministers.
