Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the appointment of the bank’s new Director of Islamic Banking, Mr. Hassan Kalaam.
Mr. Kalaam has been a notable figure in the Maldivian banking and financial sector with more than ten years of experience and expertise contributed in the field.
The new Director of Islamic Banking, Mr. Kalaam first joined BML back in 2013 and continued to act as an instrumental figure in the bank’s recent growth and development; especially its Islamic Banking arm.
Before being appointed as the new Director of Islamic Banking, he was the Interim In-charge of the BML Islamic.
Meanwhile, speaking about Kalaam’s appointment as the new Islamic Banking Director, the bank’s CEO and Managing Director Mr. Tim Sawyer said, “I am delighted to welcome Kalaam to the executive team.”
Moreover, Mr. Sawyer was confident of Kalaam’s knowledge and expertise will help the bank to strengthen its “portfolio of Shari’ah compliant products.”
