Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed has departed to Hong Kong tonight to participate in the final round of talks with China regarding China-Maldives Free Trade Agreement.
Minister Saeed said that, after the talks which will be held starting from tomorrow till 28th of this month, the next step would be to finalize the agreement of both Countries .
He said that he hopes that the agreement will be signed within the first three months of 2017. He further said that even now, Maldives enjoys a lot of privileges when trading with China due to the close relation between the two countries.
Economic Minister Saeed will also kick start talks with Hong Kong to establish a Maldives-Hong Kong Free Trade Agreement since previously they have expressed interest to do that.
