While the national security is at stake، hiding the issue from the public is an unwise decision، opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) chairperson Ali Waheed said.
Ali Waheed made the comment on a tweet he posted last night. He is currently in London، UK.
He further said arresting officers of national security (MNDF) is not an ordinary matter، which should be taken lightly.
Ali Waheed made the comment while the authorities are probing the explosion aboard presidential speedboat “Finifenma”، which created series of events، including president bringing changes to his security، and two officers of MNDF Ordnance Service getting arrested.
The incident، which occurred on 28 September while President and First Lady were onboard، is under investigation by the authorities، with the assistance from foreign investigators.
