China donates medical equipment and money to Addu City’s Hithadhoo Hospital

Peoples Republic of China has donated medical equipment worth of MVR 500,000.00 to Addu City’s Hithadhoo Hospital and a medical grant of 20,000 USD to the Health Ministry of Maldives.
The equipment and grant were handed over by Counsellor Liu Qiang, Charge d’affiaires and Deputy Head of Mission of the Chinese Embassy at the Handover Ceremony of Medical Equipment and Grant held at Nasandhura Palace Hotel yesterday.
The medical equipment and grant were received by the Interim Health Minister of Maldives, Mohamed Nazim.
This donation includes important medical equipment such as a Phototherapy unit double surface (incubator), maternal, foetal monitor for labour monitoring (NST monitor), 3 oxygen concentrators, a cardiac monitor with paediatric accessories assories, 1 ventilator neonatal and an infusion warmer.
Speaking at the ceremony, the interim minister Nazim said that this medical equipment symbolizes a token of friendship and a spirit of cohesion between China and Maldives.
He assured that this support to help health sector especially to Hithadhoo Regional Hospital will further enhance the Health services they are intended to provide by them.
The Minister expressed gratitude to the Peoples Republic of China for the donation received.
“It is an indication of the strength of the long-standing partnership between the two Countries,” he said.
