Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed Rasdhoo, Alifu Alifu Atoll, has the largest COVID-19 vaccine coverage out of all the islands with guesthouses.
The statistics from HPA show 79% of the Rasdhoo population have completed the vaccine doses, which is 647 of the 823 residents. Additionally, around 99% of the residents over 65 years of age and 96% of the tourism industry workers in Rasdhoo have completed the vaccine doses.
The statistics also show the government vaccination programme has been the most successful in islands of Alifu Alifu Atoll and Alifu Dhaalu Atoll. The islands in these two atolls consist of a large number of guesthouse businesses. Ukulhas, Alifu Alifu Atoll, and Hangnaameedhoo, Alifu Dhallu Atoll, also have a high vaccine coverage with over 74% of the population of both islands completing the vaccine doses.
All of the residents above 65 years of age in both islands have also completed the vaccine doses as well as all tourism industry workers in Hangnaameedhoo and 96% of the tourism industry workers in Ukulhas.
Maafushi has the highest vaccine coverage out of all the islands in Kaafu atoll, with 60% of the population completing the vaccine doses.
Furthermore, 89 of the residents over 65 years of age and 96% of the tourism industry workers in Maafushi have completed their vaccine doses.
