Independent 50 logo and slogan to be put in all official documents
The president had unveiled the logo and slogan designed to mark 50 years since the country gained independence, in a ceremony held last Thursday to celebrate both National Day, and National Unity Day. The logo symbolizes 50 years of independence and has red, green and while used in it – the colors of Maldivian national flag; while the slogan reads – “Dhivehin” – Always Maldivian, Forever Independent. President’s Office minister Abdulla Ameen issued a statement on Sunday, which said that the president had requested that the Independent 50 logo and slogan be used in all government activities within the upcoming year, starting January 1. The statement also said that government institutions would be briefed by Housing Ministry regarding preparing a special seal for the logo and slogan, so that they may be used in all official letters and documents. The government has a lot of activities planned for the upcoming year to celebrate 50 years of independence. President’s Office has said that the activities included inviting numerous foreign leaders to the country for different events to be held to celebrate independence, as well as numerous activities with the participation of Maldivian public.
