Only two percent of Maldivian youth aged 15-34 are involved in crime, and this number can be brought further down, said Police Spokesperson Ahmed Shifan.
In a post published on X (formerly Twitter), Shifan said that Maldivian youth are overwhelmingly law abiding and productive, with only two percent of those aged 15-34 involved in crime. He said these figures are backed by recent data, and added that with a proactive participative approach, this "already low figure can be reduced even further."
"By fostering more opportunities for engagement and growth, we can unlock the full potential of our youth, empowering them to contribute to a brighter, safer future for the Maldives," he said.
