Case filed by President Yameen could not prove any of the allegations : SC verdict

The Supreme Court of the Maldives has pronounced a verdict on the case filed by President Yameen to nullify the elections.
Speaking to the press after the hearing, lawyer Hisaan Hussein said that President Yameen’s legal team did not submit any evidence which could prove that anything which could have changed the results of the election.
Hisaan said that it is the responsibility of the party filing the case to show evidence and not the responsibility of the court to facilitate that. The Supreme Court ruled today that the election was valid and that there was no room or legal justification to nullify the elections.
President Yameen’s legal team could not prove any of their allegations at court. The court’s decision will be a historic decision because it has been a practice by President Yameen to arrest people on false charges and punish them.
Hence, President Yameen could have thought that he could change the results of the elections like that through the courts.
