Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi has met with senior officials of the Maldives Customs Service.
In this meeting, held on Sunday, customs officials had briefed the newly appointed minister on their work, ongoing operations, and concerns.
While Defence Minister Mariya and customs officials had discussed ways in which to address concerns that can immediately be resolved, they had also discussed ways in which to improve the customs.
Minister Mariya has been visiting institutions under her mandate to oversee their functioning.
