President Abdulla Yameen has appointed Dr. Suneena Rasheed to serve as a Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Gender and Family on Thursday.
The President's office has confirmed the appointment of Dr.Suneena, the first among two students to have received a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) from The Maldives National University (MNU).
Prior to earning her doctorate at MNU, Dr. Suneena graduated with a Masters in Education and School Management at Mysore University, India.
In addition to having previously worked at Maldives National University, she was also a chemistry teacher and supervisor at the Center for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE).
Dr.Suneena joins rank amongst three other deputy ministers currently serving at the Gender Ministry.
