Team of teachers from R. Atoll Education Center visit Hira School

A team of teachers from R. Atoll Education Center have visited Addu City’s Hira School.
R. Atoll Education Center informs that the aim of this trip was to increase the experience of the teachers of that school towards the key stage 1 of the new educational curriculum established this year.
The team which consisted of 13 teachers and one leading teacher of the school arrived in Addu City last Tuesday.
The team said that they decided to visit Hira School to gain more experience about the new curriculum because Hira School is the best school for that purpose in their opinion.
“People who gave suggestions about educational things said that Addu City’s Hira School would be the best school to gain more experience about the new curriculum”، R. Atoll Education Center’s leading teacher، Ahmed Shareef told Vaguthu.
During this trip، the team observed some of the teaching classes of Hira School and gained a lot of information from the students and parents as well. Moreover، they observed and gained experience from the way teachers of Hira School made their lesson plans and how they carried out classes.
The team also noted that the way of teaching and facilities used in Hira School are also very different.
“This was a very beneficial trip. Teachers learnt a lot of new things about the new curriculum. The instructions given to the students of Hira School are also very good”، R. Atoll Education Center’s leading teacher، Ahmed Shareef told Vaguthu.
It is remarked that schools from different regions of Maldives visit Hira School quite often. Other three schools have also visited Hira School so far this year.
Likewise، a preschool from Hulhumalé also visited Hira School earlier. A team of principals of local schools also visited Hira School earlier and observed the way lessons are taught in the school.
“Lot of schools wanting to visit us call. More schools visit in the remaining days of this year as well”، told Hira School’s principal Mariyam Sithara to Vaguthu Addu.
Hira School has been following the new national curriculum since 2012. This year، the school has successfully completed key stage 1 and moved on to key stage 2.
The team of R. Atoll Education Center appreciated the warm welcome they received from Addu High School and Addu City Council and thanked them for it.
