A pickup truck lost control and fell into the harbour off T-jetty in Male’ on Sunday night.
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said the incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. and that the diver suffered minor injuries to his leg. The truck was retrieved from the harbour around 11:50 p.m. with the help of MNDF divers.
MNDF said they suspect a failure in the truck’s break system to have caused the loss of control. The driver was trying to take a turn when he lost control and crashed into the sea.
