Maldives’ leading hospitality group Crown & Champa Resorts (CCR) has appointed Maldivian hotelier Mohamed Solah as their new Chief Operating Officer.
The appointment marks a return to CCR for Solah, who began his career in 2002 with CCR’s Meeru Island Resort as a receptionist/telephone operator. Before the appointment, he was serving as the Cluster General Manager of Zaya Hospitality in Dubai and was among the few Maldivian general managers abroad.
He also became one of the youngest general managers in the Maldives when he was appointed to the post at CCR’s Komandoo Island resort in 2018.
The Crown & Champa Resorts collection, led by the forerunners of Maldives tourism, offers holiday options across 10 hotels, from luxury resorts to a city hotel. As the Maldives marks the 50th anniversary of its tourist business, having a local in charge of an established hotel chain will be invaluable because of their unwavering dedication to developing Maldivian talent.
