Nasheed to participate in party discussions

Former President Mohamed Nasheed will represent Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) in the last session of the party talks to be held in Bandos Island Resort.
The discussions in Bandos commence tonight, and continue till Saturday.
A participant of the discussions said that the final session will begin on Saturday at 09:00, and that MDP will be represented by Nasheed.
The usual representatives of MDP in these discussions are MP Hamid Abdul Gafoor and former cabinet minister Maryam Zulfa.
Participants will depart to Bandos this evening for confidential meetings which will commence tonight. They will continue on Friday and Saturday.
Discussions will be held on the items tabled on the agenda.
The first item on the agenda, which was agreed upon after nine meetings, is on ways to resolve the unrest in the country. The final item is on deciding a date for the presidential election.
Other items on the agenda include the budget situation, changing the posts of independent institutions, revision of laws and regulations, and forming new laws and regulations.
