Former President Nasheed have said that the movie about the re-population of Thinadhoo should be made. Home Ministry have asked Thinadhoo Council to stop making the film.
A letter sent to the council، signed by Home Minister Umar says that releasing this movie might create violence and open up old wounds. However former President Nasheed said that the movie should be made and “truth will be truth” and what happened in Thinadhoo is something all Maldivians should be ashamed of.
The shooting of the movie was to start in Ramadan. Also a lot of pre-production work has been done so far.
