The Prosecutor General has submitted former President Nasheed’s case to the Supreme Court for review. Former President Nasheed was jailed for 13 years by the Criminal Court and the Supreme Court upheld the verdict previously.
A statement by the PG office states that the office has submitted the case to the PG for review after noting some procedural errors in the case. The statement further states that they submitted the case for review considering that the case has a lot to do with national interest.
Meanwhile, 49 parliament members signed a petition calling to free President Nasheed.
