Health Protection Agency confirmed the first positive case in Male . The individual is currently being transferred to an isolation Facility .
This marks the sixth Maldivian to test positive for the coronavirus, and the 21st confirmed case in Maldives.
Health Protection Agency has also warned that over 96,000 people may become infected with COVID-19 in the Maldives without the current measures taken against the virus.
During daily press conference held Tuesday HPA’s Dr. Nazla Rafeeq said ,such a situation can be avoided with appropriate precautionary measures, said Dr. Nazla, and stressed the importance of practicing personal hygiene and social distancing.
