Military will not discriminate on safety for all citizens: Defense Minister

Defense Minister Adam Shareef has said that the military will work to protect the rights of all and conserve the Constitution, and in doing so will not discriminate among citizens.
Speaking to press in Coast Guard building, Minister Shareef stressed that the military will not discriminate between individuals while fulfilling their mandate. He urged all to be accountable and fulfill their individual shares of responsibilities in resolving the issues facing the country. Minister Shareef said that individual responsibility and accountability was vital in developing the society.
He added that due to some statements the safety and stability of the nation had been compromised, urging a cessation to it.
“National security is paramount and for that to happen citizens need to be aware and share all information of any dangers to national security, with relevant authorities,” he said.
Minister Adam Shareef’s statement came after the Criminal Court sentenced Adhaalath Party Leader Imran Abdullah on terror charges, for a statement he gave to protesters.
