Finance Minister calls to implement Islamic finance in tourism

Finance Minister Abdullah Jihad has called on universities to research on ways Islamic finance can be used in tourism.
He made the statement speaking in the ceremony held to launch the university’s website.
“I have appealed to many for assistance, not much had been received,”
University Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohamed Zahir Hussin said that at the moment he did not have a response to the query but said the University would prioritize on the issue.
“The number of individuals with higher education degrees in Islamic Finance is low, even in the finance ministry,” he said.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed revealed that the College will begin Islamic finance sector courses. The University is presently conducting some Islamic finance courses in collaboration with Malaysian universities.
