When Maldives eradicates diseases tourism sector will further develop: Health Minister

Health Minister Abdullah Nazim Ibrahim have said that eradicating diseases will boost the tourism sector of Maldives.
In a ceremony held at STO this morning to launch the program to vaccinate STO staffs for measles, the minister said that tourists will find it relieving to know that the countries they visit do not have diseases like measles. He said that tourists prefer visiting countries with less communicable diseases.
He said that while Maldives has eradicated polio, filaria, and malaria, it will be a great achievement to add measles to that list. He said that it will be a relief for the people of Maldives as well. Nazim said that the support for the measles vaccination campaign is huge among the public. He said that soon, WHO will monitor and declare Maldives as measles free.
