The Minister claimed that this ‘prison apartmenet’ has a 30-20 ft bed room, a living room, a kitchen, and even a yard. He added that the government would not ill-treat a senior government official serving a sentence. Ahmed Abdulla Afeef, a member of Nasheed’s legal team, told Haveeru that Nasheed, Nazim, and Tholhath are kept at a large room inside the building which accommodates Himmafushi prison’s staff. “The three are kept in a room with separate beds with no attached bathroom, and the living conditions are significantly lower than that of Nasheed’s prison in Dhoonidhoo” Afeef said. Nasheed was transferred to his prison in Himmafushi Asseyri on Tuesday night. His lawyers were reportedly not informed of the transfer.
