Maldives was crowned as the “Best Sea Destination” at the Italia Travel Awards 2017.
At the award show held at the elegant Roman Aquarium in the heart of Italy’s capital Rome, Maldives had won the title competing with Seychelles and Polynesia.
The award was received on behalf of Maldives by Maldivian ambassador to Geneva, Dr Hala Hameed.
Maldives had earlier won the title of “Best Beach Destination” at the Italia Travel Awards 2016.
Italy Travel Awards celebrates the commitment and expertise in the tourism sector. It’s prestigious recognition is considered as the Oscar of the Travel Awards in Italy. A total of 15 categories and 43 awards were presented to the respected winners.
