BML donates USD 25,000 to telethon to help Sri Lanka

The Bank of Maldives (BML) has donated USD 25,000 to the special telethon organized by the Maldivian media to provide assistance to the people affected by Cyclone Ditwah.
The telethon started at 09:00 on Sunday at the PSM studio. The telethon will continue until 01:00.
BML Managing Director Mohamed Shareef handed over the check on behalf of the bank.
After handing over the cheque, Shareef said that many BML customers and partners live in Sri Lanka. Noting that the country has close business relations with BML, Shareef said BML shares the grief of Sri Lanka.
So far, a total of more than two million Rufiyaa has been donated to the telethon.
Sun Siyam Media will also participate in the telethon and all the results and updates will be broadcast on Sun Online and SSTV.

PSM has signed an agreement with an independent audit firm, Crowe Maldives, to manage the funds raised for the telethon.
Fund boxes will be set up in different areas of Male' and Hulhumale'. Donations can also be made by transferring online.
