‘I AM Maldives’ roadshow launches in central and eastern Europe

Visit Maldives Corporation, in partnership with the National Hotel and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (NGHAM), has launched the ‘I AM Maldives’ roadshow in central and eastern Europe.
According to Visit Maldives, the roadshow is focused on expanding Maldives’ presence in three key emerging markets – Poland, Romania, and the Czech Republic.
The roadshow serves as a dedicated platform to strengthen business relationships, enhance destination visibility, and promote the Maldives as a preferred holiday choice for travelers across the region.
The roadshow was held in Warsaw on Monday, in Bucharest on Wednesday, and will launch in Prague on Friday, uniting travel industry professionals, agencies, tour operators, and media representatives under one banner.
Featuring 26 exhibitors, including resorts, hotels, guesthouses, liveaboards, and travel agencies, the ‘I AM Maldives’ roadshow showcases the Maldives’ world-class hospitality, luxury experiences, community-led tourism initiatives, and diverse tourism products.
Through curated presentations, one-to-one business meetings, and networking opportunities, the event is expected to provide a valuable platform for Maldivian stakeholders to connect directly with key partners in the central and eastern European market.
Abdulla Nasheed, the President of NHGAM, said that the response from the Polish travel community has been exceptional.
"We're seeing genuine enthusiasm for the authentic Maldivian experience, from our community-led tourism initiatives on local islands to our world-class resort offerings. This roadshow allows us to showcase the diversity of what the Maldives has to offer while building the personal connections that drive real business growth,” he said.
Ibrahim Shiuree, the CEO and Managing Director of Visit Maldives, said that the roadshow represents the corporation’s strategic focus on emerging European markets that continue to show strong growth potential.
“By strengthening partnerships and increasing awareness among regional travel trade partners, we aim to inspire more travelers from Poland, Romania, and the Czech Republic to experience the Maldives’ unique blend of natural beauty, culture, and luxury,” he said.
According to Visit Maldives, the roadshow supports the corporation’s wider goal of achieving this year’s target of 2.3 million tourist arrivals in the Maldives.
By the end of September, the Maldives recorded a total of 86,860 visitors from central and eastern Europe, exceeding the 86,574 recorded during the same period last year.
The Visit Maldives believes this to be positive indicator of continued growth from the region.
According to Visit Maldives, the roadshow, in addition to strengthening market reach, also aims to provide destination training, share the latest travel updates, and gather insights on traveler preferences to inform future marketing efforts.
