President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with members of the Sh. Feevah Island Council, the Women’s Development Committee, and heads of local institutions to discuss the island’s key development priorities. The meeting took place at the Secretariat of the Feevah Council.
During the meeting, council members outlined the primary needs of the island’s residents. They emphasised the importance of addressing issues related to the outer wall of the harbour, implementing water and sewerage infrastructure at the ferry terminal developed within the harbour area, and redeveloping the island’s muddy area where housing plots have been allocated.
Council members also noted that the extension work of the health centre had stalled. They requested that the health centre’s operating hours be extended to a 24-hour service and proposed arranging the transport of vaccines from the Atoll Hospital to the island via the RTL ferry service.
President Dr Muizzu assured participants that the Government would give due consideration to their concerns. He was accompanied by Cabinet ministers and senior officials from State-owned Enterprises, who also provided updates on ongoing development projects.
