344 youth graduate from inaugural National Service Training

The first batch of the National Service Initial Training has concluded, with 344 students graduating from the programme.
The training programme was launched on 1 October by President
Dr Mohamed Muizzu to strengthen national spirit and Islamic values among youth. The training started out with 350 participants and ran for three months.
The training covered nationalism, responsible citizenship, religious education, leadership and language proficiency along with physical fitness, exercise and character development. Participants also received training in first aid, firefighting, self-defence, camping activities and military-related activities.
According to the Ministry of Defence, efforts are now underway to commence the second batch, set to launch in January with 350 participants.
The government also plans to introduce vocational and technical training under the National Service from January, allowing graduates to pursue skills-based training based on their interests and course availability.
