Maldives Police Service (MPS) has reminded the public to respect the rights of others and avoid any actions that could disrupt public peace while celebrating the World Cup.
MPS made the statement ahead of the football match between Argentina and England, as fans prepare to gather and celebrate the game.
Police advised against gathering in public streets and residential areas late at night if it involves loud noise, music or honking that may disturb residents. MPS also reminded the public not to park or remain in vehicles in a way that inconveniences other road users while watching the match on public screens.
The police further urged the public to be considerate of the rights and comfort of children, the elderly and neighbours while watching the matches.
