Afghanistan claimed their first-ever international volleyball victory on Monday, defeating Bangladesh in the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Women’s Cup 2025 in Male'.
Afghanistan won the ranking match 3–1, marking a milestone moment for the team, which had never recorded an international win before. The result secured Afghanistan third place in the four‑nation tournament, while Bangladesh finished fourth.
Fourth‑placed Bangladesh will face the winner of Monday night’s Maldives–Kyrgyzstan match in the first ranking match on Wednesday at 16:20. The winner of that match will take the top spot in the rankings, with the runner‑up finishing second.
The loser of the Maldives–Kyrgyzstan match will play Afghanistan on Wednesday at 20:40.
