Maldives National Defence Force has rescued eight people who got drowned after they got in the ocean from their boat from Faafu Nilandhoo to go fishing for Groupers.
MNDF said that the men that were rescued people who drowned after they got in the ocean from their boat from Faafu Nilandhoo to go fishing for Groupers near the uninhabited island of Hulhuvehi in Dhaalu Atoll.
The incident took place when the engine of the fishing boat failed and the boat started drifting to the current. MNDF said that the boat had drifted 2.5 miles from where the men got into the ocean when they were rescued following the report.
The fishing boat “Dhahanaa” went fishing with 12 people. No one was injured in the incident.
