President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has described India as a reliable partner in the Maldives’ development. He made the statement in a meeting with Santosh S. Lad, Labour Minister of Karnataka, India, reaffirming the close ties between the Maldives and India.
Karnataka’s Labour Minister paid a courtesy call on President Muizzu on Monday, during which both leaders highlighted the close and longstanding relationship between the Maldives and India. The President emphasised that Bengaluru is a second home for many Maldivians seeking education and healthcare, and reaffirmed India as a close, reliable partner in the Maldives' development.
Concluding the courtesy call, both leaders expressed optimism that the establishment of the Maldives International Financial Centre (MIFC) would elevate bilateral relations and yield mutual benefits for both nations.
