Thousands of Maldivians gathered in the capital for a large-scale march titled “Ummah with Palestine”, demonstrating strong public support for the Palestinian people.
The march began at 8:00 PM on friday in front of the Social Center on Majeedhee Magu and made its way to Artificial Beach, where further solidarity activities were set to take place. Participants carried posters and chanted slogans supporting Palestine, calling for justice and greater action in defense of Palestinian Muslims.

The event was organized by Youth for Unity, religious scholars, and various community organizations and individuals engaged in Islamic outreach.
During the march, demonstrators urged the Maldivian government to take stronger steps in support of Palestinian rights. This comes just days after President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu ratified an amendment to the Immigration Act that bars Israeli passport holders from entering the Maldives—a decision welcomed by international supporters of Palestine, including Hamas.
