STELCO has completed all electrical works required to supply power to the 4,000 flats developed by Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) in Hulhumale' Phase II.
The state utility confirmed on Wednesday that the distribution boards have been installed and tested, and electricity is now available in all units. Some of the flats are already occupied.
The scope of work included laying cables to the main panels, making connections, and conducting technical tests to ensure safe and reliable power delivery to each apartment.
Earlier this month, water and sewerage services were also installed in the flats.
Despite these developments, many recipients have voiced frustration over delays in handing over the units. In response, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has pledged that keys to all flats will be distributed by the start of the new academic year, which begins on January 27.
